The Australian Curriculum was introduced into all QLD schools in 2012. The curriculum was created by The Australian Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting Authority (ACARA).
Alexandra Hills State School offers the following subjects to students in line with the Australian Curriculum:-

- S.O.S.E ( Studies of Society & the Environment)
- HPE (Health & Physical Education)
- Technology
- The Arts - Including Dance and Drama
- L.O.T.E (Languages other than English - We offer Italian)
- Instrumental Music - Years 4 - 6
Other activities throughout the year include:
- Under 8's Week
- Book Week
- NAIDOC Week
- ANZAC Day Celebrations
- Sports days.
The Pedagogical framework is designed to support teachers in the delivery of quality teaching and learning that will improve student learning.
Each school is required to have a Pedagogical framework that is collaboratively developed with the school community to ensure high quality, evidence-based teaching practices focused on success for every student.
